Notes

How to make this into a Freezer Meal:

Cook the ground pork and place in a resealable gallon-sized freezer bag or other freezer-safe container.

Dump in soy sauce, garlic powder, ground ginger, and salt and pepper into the bag.

Let the bag cool down (if still hot from the cooked pork). Place in the freezer for up to 90 days.

When ready to eat, remove frozen food from the bag (if it won’t come out, run the bag under hot water so that you can remove/peel off the frozen bag).

Place the frozen food into your Instant Pot (if it froze in a shape that won’t fit into your Instant Pot, you may need to defrost it for a few minutes or break it into pieces to make it fit).

Add 1 bag of cole slaw mix and 1/2 cup chicken broth to your Instant Pot.

Place the lid on the top of the Instant Pot. Move the valve to SEALING (not venting).

Press the MANUAL (or PRESSURE COOK) button and set timer for 3 minutes.

When the timer is finished, let do a QUICK RELEASE of the pressure. Serve and enjoy!

  10. Linda says:

I love eggrolls. I used chicken cut into real small pieces. Everything else the same. Not sure what went wrong, the cole slaw mix did not come out well. Maybe I didn't release the pressure fast enough. HELP! I would like to try it again.

  17. Dan R says:

This was a fantastic recipe! Although my egg rolls didn't look anything like they were supposed to, they tasted great. My wife and kids loved them, and all were gone in minutes. I also made the egg roll wrapper strips, which were used to eat the leftovers ... thanks ladies.

  18. Jackie says:

I don't have an InstaPot. I'd love to just try it out in a dutch oven on the stove. Cooking the meat and seasonings is simple to adapt, but any recommendations for adding the coleslaw and liquid, and how long to cook, covered or uncovered for good results? It sounds like such a flavorful dish.

  19. Momma Cyd says:

I'm sure you could cook this on the stove top in a pan with the lid on until all cooked through. We haven't tried it, so we don't have exact directions for you. But this recipe could be a little more flexible converting from Instant Pot to stove top.

  20. Katie says:

Awesome recipe I made the mistake of adding to much broth but it turned out great I loved it

  21. B Cassey says:

I’ve made this twice so far both times on the stove. Followed the exact recipe the first time served it over rice. Second time, tonight, used turkey over noodles. Was good but I think I like the pork better. After browning the meat with the seasoning I added the slaw and cooked it covered for 10 minutes. Mixed it all up and it was perfect. Great recipe.

  22. Momma Cyd says:

I'm so glad that it worked great on the stovetop for you!!! It's a yummy recipe!

  23. Christine says:

Going to try this recipe this week! Can you add rice to the dish while cooking? If so how would you do that? Thanks!

  24. Momma Cyd says:

Rice takes a lot longer to cook than the egg roll bowls. I would cook the rice before hand, set aside and then add it to the cooked egg roll bowls at the end.

  25. Heather says:

Delicious! Tasted like an egg roll and it was so simple. I didn't realize you could put 0 minutes on your instant pot. Just another new concept I learned from Six Sisters' Stuff!

Instant Pot Egg Roll Bowls Recipe (15)

  26. Darlyne Redd says:

Another recipe to add to my menu. Thank you ladies for the work you put into these meals so we can reap the easy benefits! Appreciate you so much. One thing I will never do again is use the microwave to reheat anything. I use the steam button and cook for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the quantity. About 2 cups takes 10 to 12 minutes. Noodle recipes will taste freshly made each time you steam it. What a game changer since I hate how the microwave seems to change the texture and taste, at least for me. Hope this helps.
