Playing South Carolina Pick 4 is quite plain sailing and highly rewarding. Each Pick 4 playslip comprises five panels, so you need to pick four different or duplicate numbers for each panel from a field of 0 to 9. For example, 5674, 4444, 5568, 6669, etc. Or you can also ask your lottery retailer for a Quick Pick to get your numbers randomly generated by the terminal.
If your selected lottery numbers match the drawn numbers according to the chosen play type and wager, you bag the winning prizes.
After picking your numbers, you need to select the wager and the play type ranging from $0.50 to $1, including Straight, Box, Straight/Box, and Combo which ultimately determines your prize amounts. Pick 4 drawings are held twice a day approximately at 12:59 PM and 6:59 PM. The draws are held seven days a week, except the Midday draw on Sundays, which means you have multiple chances to bag the lottery prizes.
To make your game more exciting, the South Carolina Lottery allows you to play the lottery bets for up to 14 draws for either “DAY” or “EVE”, or for 28 consecutive draws for “BOTH” the draws by marking the appropriate box under “Number of Multi-Draws”. Not limiting your ways of playing Pick 4, The South Carolina Lottery provides you the chance to play your numbers any day in the future, except for the current draw. You just need to ask for Advance Play and you can play for any future draw for South Carolina Pick 4.
It is mandatory to specify the Pick 4 draw time you have selected, by marking "DAY" (Midday), "EVE" (Evening), or "BOTH" (Both) on your playslip.
You need to hand over your completed playslip and payment to the retailer. In return, you will get a ticket for selected numbers and draw time(s). Your lottery ticket is your only receipt. Ensure to check the accuracy of the numbers and sign at the back of your ticket for authentication.

- Box 12-Way: You have to select 1 pair of identical numbers and two different numbers. You can win by matching the numbers in any order.

- Combo: You can win the game by matching all the Straight combinations of your selected three-digit numbers.
- 4-Way Combo: You can play all possible four straight combinations of 4 numbers of which three are the same. You can match these numbers in any order to a win.
- 6-Way Combo: You can play all six combinations of four numbers consisting of two pairs of identical numbers. You can match these numbers in any order to a win.
- 12-Way Combo: You can play all possible twelve straight combinations of for numbers out of which 2 are the same. You can match these numbers in any order to a win.
- 24-Way Combo: You can play all twenty-four combinations and match in any order to win.
- Straight/Box 4-Way: You have to select three same numbers and one different number. You win by matching these digits in exact or any order.
- Straight/Box 6-Way: You have to select 2 pairs of identical numbers. You win by matching these digits in exact or any order.
- Straight/Box 12-Way: You have to select 1 pair of identical numbers and two different numbers. You win by matching these digits in exact or any order.
- Straight/Box 24-Way: To win, you can match your selected numbers which are all different from each other, with the drawn numbers in exact or any order.
