Hello,
just to have a comparison with same configuration, do you have 30% of GPU usage in idle in Windows 10 20H2? It's very strange for me because it seems not be usual.
Thank you !

Shadowplay? Background apps? with shadowplay on mine goes between 10-30% usage on Video Encode. Since it is after all, constantly recording.

No. I have GeForce Experience installed, with instant replay off. Idling, browsing and watching YouTube only puts my 3070 at 0-5% loads. Windows 10 20H2 build 19042.804. Driver ver 461.40.

Of I disabled shadow play it's the same it's why is very strange. With my old configuration with gtx 980, it was only 10% of gpu usage for shadow play.
It seems use more gpu for encoding during idle than when I play a game

You clearly have something using the gpu, ie. hw accel, hardware acceleration. Use afterburner and click on the "i" button, scroll down to active 3D process. Whatever that is there that you don't explicitly want to use your gpu on the desktop, copy pasta the app.exe and paste into Rivatuner. Open Rivatuner click add, paste that exe and set application detection level to none, then close rivetuner and it'll auto restart and disable said app upon its restart.

Yes exactly yesterday disable shadow play did not affect the GPU usage, it's why i said "today" and why it's strange for me.

I forgot I had shadowplay enabled. Quickest "well duh" reading your comment while trying to figure out my encoding not being at 0 while idle.
